Fin-type Heat Sink Quality Requirement

The fin-type heat sink is a flagship product advocated and promoted by the national configuration department, and it is also the fin-type heat sink with the highest market share in China at present. Its main heat flow direction is from the core tube to the bottom of the device, and the heat is dispersed to the surrounding space through the fin-type heat sink. The surface quality requirements of the fin-type heat sink are as follows:

 

1. The surface of the heat sink should be free of defects such as shrinkage holes, rust, and cracks.

 

2. Metal fasteners (pressure plates, pressure covers, disc springs) of flat plate fin-type heat sinks and conductive fins of water-cooled heat sinks should be coated for protection.

 

3. The maximum allowable surface roughness Ra of the heat sink table surface is 3.2μm.

 

4. The flatness of the heat sink table surface should not be lower than grade 9.

5. For fin-type heat sinks used for power semiconductor devices in humid tropical areas (including heat sinks, fasteners, and insulating parts), the surface should be treated with protective treatment, and its ability to resist moisture, salt spray, and mold should meet the corresponding standards of power semiconductor devices in tropical areas.

 

6. The special fasteners and insulating parts for fin-type heat sinks should comply with GBB446.3 (insulating parts and fasteners for fin-type heat sinks for power semiconductor devices).

 

7. The tightening torque or tightening pressure of the fin-type heat sink and the installation of power semiconductors should comply with the relevant provisions of the device product standards.

 

8. The installation center positioning pin size of the flat plate fin-type heat sink: diameter 2.5mm, protruding from the table 1mm.
