What are the quality requirements for industrial aluminum heat sinks?

Jan 11, 2024|

What are the quality requirements for aluminum heat sink fins? When aluminum heat sink fins are in operation in industrial production, some inconspicuous factors can often have a significant impact on heat dissipation.

Quality requirements for aluminum alloy heat sinks:
1. The heat sink surface should be free of shrinkage holes, rust, cracks, and other defects.

2. For flat heat sinks, metal fasteners (clamps) should not exhibit defects. For gland disc springs on water-cooled heat sinks, conductive pieces should be coated for protection.

3. The maximum allowable roughness value (Ra) for the surface of the heat sink base is 3.2 μm.

4. The flatness of the cooling base should not be less than Grade 9.

5. Special fasteners and insulation components for heat sinks should comply with GB 446.3 (Insulation components and fasteners for heat sinks used in power semiconductor devices).

6. The tightening torque or pressure for the installation of heat sinks and power semiconductors should comply with the relevant provisions of the equipment product standards.
